About the project.

This project, aims to make wine production in Epirus a force for the development and visibility for the area through the creation of an innovative traceability system that will provide consumers with valuable information about the region, the origin of the produced wine, the production process and other characteristics such as stability, quality and hygiene.

Every bottle of wine is identified as a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) product

IoT functionality.

Using IoT functionality it will be made possible to record information and data on each stage of production, monitor the overall process and being ensured that all the necessary conditions and controls are being met in order for every bottle of wine sold to be identified as a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) product.

Producers

Data will be collected from the field and until the production phase both manually and automatically by sensors and those involved on the process, such as farmers and agriculturists. Gathered information can then play a vital role in producing better quality wines.

Consumers

With the use of a dedicated mobile application, consumers will be in position to obtain information regarding the authenticity, provenance and quality of the wine.

Terracom was founded in 1999 in Ioannina, Greece. Our vision is to develop and provide our customers with top class technology products by foreseeing their needs and to become a leader in areas that we are actively involved.

Zoinos, founded in 1974 by the Agricultural Union of Ioannina and was the first organized winery in the north-west Greece. Wine-production has been recognized as Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) since the year 1972.

The company LAND EUDOXIA was founded in 2004, as a winery, with privately owned vines and in 2014 added to its production line its own, the distillery. It produces white and red wine, as well as spirits (tsipouro). As a company is aiming on producing high quality products and towards that direction has been certified with HACCP accreditation.

The Chemical Department of Ioannina, has an experienced team of researchers who can deal with quality assurance and hygiene of the finished product.
